The safety of our customers, employees and the communities we serve is our highest priority. Maintaining and managing vegetation within our service territory is a critical component of our wildfire mitigation efforts. We have a team of arborists, line clearance qualified tree trimmers and pole brush experts that help maintain safe space around our electric equipment.
In 2020, SDG&E enhanced its vegetation management activities. The vegetation management program continued its success by conducting the activities of tracking and maintaining its database of inventory trees, routing and enhanced patrolling, pruning and removing hazardous trees, replacing unsafe trees with species compatible with powerlines, and pole brushing.
