3 Safety Tips for A Happy 4th of July

Fireworks Safety

Fire danger is high this 4th of July. Leave the pyrotechnics to the pros to avoid causing a fire and injuries, or breaking the law.

ALL consumer fireworks are illegal in the City and County of San Diego. Sparklers, firecrackers, cherry bombs, bottle rockets and even poppers are prohibited. Under California law, parents can be held liable for any damage or injuries caused by their children using fireworks.

Grilling Safety

Use your grill away children and pets, and items that can catch on fire, such as tree branches, the deck, and overhangs. Set up a three-foot "kid and pet-free zone" around the grill to keep them safe.

Beach Safety
If you are going to the beach, swim near designated areas monitored by lifeguard towers and always swim sober and with a buddy. Check the weather/surf conditions board at lifeguard towers before entering the water and see if any warning signs or flags are posted.
