SDG&E Comments on City of San Diego Opening Bids for the Natural Gas and Electric Franchises

The City of San Diego today opened the responses to Mayor Todd Gloria’s Invitations to Bid for the natural gas and electric franchises. SDG&E is the only bidder, and as our proposals demonstrate, we are dedicated to continue serving as San Diego’s long-term energy partner

“Integral to our proposals for both franchises is the spirit of collaboration and a commitment to resetting our relationship with the City. SDG&E is committed to renewing our focus on accountability and transparency as we continue to make progress constructing a safer, brighter, and more resilient grid. Our 4,500 employees stand ready to continue providing quality energy infrastructure services to San Diego residents and businesses, and to meet our mutual climate and equity goals,” said Caroline Winn, CEO of SDG&E.

We look forward to constructive discussions with City leadership to reach an agreement and build on our history of serving San Diego.
