SDG&E to Celebrate “Justice with Joy!” at San Diego Pride

Celebrating “Justice with Joy!” at San Diego Pride

June is Pride month, an opportunity to commemorate LGBTQIA+ communities across the nation and honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. In 1994, San Diego Pride was incorporated to continue to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ communities through July. Our teams embrace diversity by celebrating differing perspectives and backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive and affirming workplace where our employees feel accepted. We empower individuality in our employees and are committed to supporting our LGBTQIA+ communities.

As long-time partners of San Diego Pride’s programs, we are excited to share that we will be participating in the upcoming Pride parade and celebration! Our employees and their loved ones will march alongside an SDG&E electric vehicle in the parade, which is expected to attract over 300,000 attendees. This year’s parade theme is “Justice with Joy!” and will take place on Saturday, July 16th at 10:00 AM.

Our team continues to partner with organizations that provide programming, services, safe spaces, and resources for local LGBTQIA+ groups. Last fall, we helped fund the North County LGBTQ Resource Center in support of Project Youth, which provides direct service, educational, and advocacy strategies to support safety and resilience for LGBTQIA+ youth. We are also an annual supporter of The San Diego LGBT Community Center’s Hillcrest and South Bay Youth Centers. The centers provide safe and welcoming spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth ages 10-24, many of whom are low-income, with housing insecurities.

We look forward to marching in support of San Diego’s LGBTQIA+ communities and continuing to celebrate diversity and inclusion. See you Saturday, San Diego!
