BBB and SDG&E Team Up on Environmental Stewardship Awards Program

We are teaming up with the Better Business Bureau Foundation (BBBF) to honor businesses in San Diego, Imperial and Orange counties that are leading the way to a better environment. Businesses that go above and beyond to implement environmentally-friendly products, services and operations are invited to apply for the BBB’s Environmental Stewardship awards.

Nominations and applications will be accepted through Friday, October 15, 2018. A panel of environmental experts will to select the finalists. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Friday, December 7. To nominate a company, visit environsp.bbbcommunity.org/.

“We are looking for companies that not only display green initiatives with consumers and employees, but also ‘light the way’ and promote environmental stewardship in their industry,” said Matthew Fehling BBB Pacific Southwest Chief Executive Officer.

“The public’s voice plays an important part in identifying potential companies for this award, as they are the ones experiencing first-hand the true impact of what an environmentally conscious approach to business can offer. We are proud to honor businesses that have made a commitment to improving our environment’’.

Partnering with Local Organizations to Build a More Sustainable Future

“We are happy to once again partner with the Better Business Bureau to recognize businesses that incorporate environmental stewardship into their core practices”, said Estela de Llanos, SDG&E’s vice president of operations support, sustainability and chief environmental officer. “The businesses selected will have demonstrated exceptional green initiatives that are leading to a better environment.”

The BBB Environmental Stewardship awards is one of many programs that we support through our Environmental Champions initiative. Each year, we collaborate with a variety of non-profit organizations whose programs promote environmental education (including climate science education), community engagement, and stewardship.
