Helping Hands Make an Impact in City Heights

Three local families are now enjoying the transformation made to the outside of their homes thanks to volunteers, organizations, corporations and the City Heights Community Development Corporation (CDC). It was all part of an annual event known as City Heights Facelift which occurred last Saturday.

The event was organized by the City Heights CDC, with charitable donations coming from San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and other local organizations/companies. Significant renovations were made to three homes, including painting, landscaping, lighting and other upgrades. Additionally, 14 more houses received minor repairs, fencing and landscaping improvements.

A team of SDG&E employees volunteered their time and worked together to improve one of the three homes that received significant upgrades. In addition, SDG&E’s vegetation management team donated 15 crape myrtle trees, which were planted in parkways and yards.

SDG&E’s volunteerism and charitable donation represent the company’s commitment to improving the communities it serves. Throughout the year, the company donates its time and resources through a charitable grant program – Environmental Champions.
