Customer and SDG&E Take Swift Action to Keep Community Safe

Kudos to Chula Vista resident Andrea Murphy who alerted SDG&E to the fire hazard posed by a row of dead palm trees located near power lines in the South Bay. As soon as we heard about the problem, we obtained permits and dispatched a crew to remove the dead vegetation. Andrea’s efforts to eliminate the fire hazard in her community was spotlighted by a 10News story recently.

At SDG&E, we appreciate our customers serving as our eyes and ears to help keep our region safe. We encourage community members to call our customer service line at 800-411-7343 if they notice vegetation coming in close contact with power lines or loose objects like Mylar balloons and kites getting tangled up in power lines.
