City of Chula Vista: At the Forefront of Helping its Residents Save Energy and Money

The Civic Center Branch of the Chula Vista Public Library, located just across the street from City Hall, has a lounge unlike any other. It’s called the Energy Lounge. In this area of the library, patrons can check out books, tools, and other resources to help them improve the energy efficiency of their home or business and save money on their utility bill.

The Energy Lounge is one of many reasons why Chula Vista was recently honored as an Energy Champion. The city was among a dozen groups and organizations recognized at our 13th annual Energy Showcase awards ceremony for being the best of the best in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and environmental sustainability.

The City of Chula Vista does not just preach and practice environmental sustainability and energy efficiency when it comes to its own municipal facilities and operations, it offers a variety of educational resources to help its residents and businesses go green and save green.

Can't make it to the Energy Lounge? Visit the city’s web page devoted to highlighting various incentives and programs that can help residents upgrade their home to make it more water- and energy-efficient and save money. The city has also established a web page to provides similar assistance to businesses.
